The initial concept for ConnectAd was formed in 2009 by Simon Choy and Charles Dieu, friends and colleagues at business school, who both enjoy entrepreneurship and the excitement of developing and executing new ideas and innovations. ConnectAd benefits from the complimentary background and experiences of its co-founders. Both Simon and Charles are graduates of the HBA program at the Richard Ivey School of Business and both received the Certificate in Entrepreneurship.
The ConnectAd Team competed in the national round of the University of British Columbia’s Enterprize Business Plan Competition, placed first and won $8,000 in the Richard Ivey School of Business HBA Business Plan Competition, and had the honour of competing against business ideas across Canada for the Nicol Entrepreneurial Award in Ottawa.
ConnectAd incorporated in April 2010 and has found experienced mentorship at the MaRS Discovery District.
